Description: Team-based message: Patients experiencing early pregnancy loss interact with many members of the health care system. Front office staff can provide empathy and kindness in managing calls. Triage nurses can recognize signs of possible miscarriage and communicate with providers in a timely way to move toward appropriate diagnostic testing. Patients may have questions or need care outside of usual office hours, so many providers may work together to manage the clinical course.
Objectives: 1. Diagnose miscarriage in a patient presenting with first trimester bleeding.
2. Understand a patient-centered approach to treatment options for early pregnancy loss.
