Target Audience
This activity was designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, nursing professionals, PAs, rehabilitation therapists, mental health professionals, and other members of the healthcare team involved in the management of patients with MS.


Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this session, learners will be able to:
  • Examine the comprehensive care model in MS in the context of the clinician's own practice setting
  • Identify members of the comprehensive care team, their unique roles, and the combined contribution of all members in promoting maximal function and wellness in MS.
  • Realistically examine barriers to the implementation of comprehensive care in real-life practice
  • Evaluate strategies to address barriers to the implementation of a comprehensive care model
  • Analyze the contribution of rehabilitation professionals in supporting treatment decisions and improving therapy adherence
  • Apply expert recommendations to the management of real-life case situations

Accreditation and Credit Designation
In support of improving patient care, The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.



Physicians
The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers designates this enduring material for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nurses
The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers designates this enduring material for 1.0 nursing continuing professional development (NPCD) credits.

Physician Assistants (PAs)
The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1.0 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. Approval is valid until October 31, 2022. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Psychologists
This activity is awarded 1.0 CE Credits.

Social Workers
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. The CMSC maintains responsibility for this course. Social workers completing this course receive 1.0 continuing education credits.

Occupational Therapists
The Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers is approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA) as a provider of continuing occupational therapy education. The CMSC designates this activity for 1.0 contact hours for AOTA affiliated attendees. The CMSC maintains responsibility for this program and its content.


Certificate of Attendance for Other Healthcare Professionals
A Certificate of Attendance will be given upon completion of course requirements enabling participants to register their credit with the appropriate licensing boards or associations. Participants may apply for other accreditations using procedures established by specific organizations.
